FOOD CHAIN

A food chain is a linear sequence of links in a food web starting from a trophic species that eats no other species in the web and ends at a trophic species that is eaten by no other species in the web.
eg , if a bird feeds on a particular type of worm , the worm feeds on a special plant , and if the plant is extinct , the population of the worm will decrease , which will cause the population of bird to decrease and will also affect the other animals in the food chain.

Part A Reflection ;D

Darren:I think that Jurong Lake Park is a very nice place to visit. There are facilities for the park users to use.During our trip there, there are several human activities like jogging, cycling,Fishing and the construction work. The people littering should be stopped and the bottles lying around should be recycled into either the recycle bin or the rubbish bin.Less construction work should be conducted at it will pollute the water and eventually kill all the fishes in the River.Although we found a lot of plant species, they were very less animal seen.I think deforestation should be prevented as it will destroy animal habitat and soon, there will not be anymore animals at Jurong Lake Park.

Jiawei:
I think that if the pollution of the park continues , more and more organisms will be gone , example ;squirrels .
I really hope that the government will stop building things near the park and let the animals have a peaceful life , so that human can start to enjoy the scenery there . I also hope that human activites can reduce in future , SO LEND YOUR HELPING HAND AND STOP POLLUTION ! :)

impact of human activities

Pollution -> Disturbance to organisms -> Extinction to animals -> No more park reserve

CONCLUSION !

Do your part in saving JLP and the EARTH !
Stop littering in to land and seas , so animals will not mistake your litters as food for them , this will also prevent choking in them ! This small little step is a BIG step in saving earth !
Use the park wisely before all the nature resources are gone ! :(
MAKE SURE TO NOT DISTURB THE ANIMALS BY CATCHING THEM TOO ! THIS WILL HELP TO MAKE SURE NO EXTINCTION OF ANIMALS WILL OCCUR !
REMEMBER ! DO YOUR PART TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT!

Recycling bins are placed at the Jurong Lake Park for people to recycle litters instead of throwing them on the ground or into the rubbish bins. It is for people to conserve the resource on the earth. Throwing into the recycling bins is more encouraged.

Golden-mantled Ground Squirrels are frequently found near human habitations in Yellowstone.Kingdom: Animalia

Species: C. lateralis

There is a variety of ferns on the tree. For example, Stag horn fern, Bird nest fern and Sword fern.

Sword Fern:
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Pteridophyta
Class: Pteridopsida
Order: Polypodiales
Family: Dryopteridaceae
Genus: Polystichum
Species: P. munitum

Staghorn Fern:
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Pteridophyta
Class: Pteridopsida
Order: Polypodiales
(unranked): Eupolypods I
Family: Polypodiaceae
Genus: Platycerium

There is a variety of tree in Jurong Lake Park such as the coconut tree.If the park is used for future development, trees will be cut down and there would not be any trees left.

Human activities at Jurong Lake Park, such as cycling. This shows how people use and enjoy the park.We should appreciate the park by not littering to conserve its beauty.

Water is being polluted. The cause of water pollution could have been cause by the dumping of waste by factories.

Construction works at jurong lake park that will cause deforestation and air pollution to the environment which will contribute to global warming.

Another conservation effort done by the authorities of JLP.
But even when recycling bins are provided , why are there still litters around ?
example ,this 'HEINEKEN' can should be threw into the CANS bin.

Conservation efforts @ Jurong lake part !
This are one of the sign board being put up in JLP .
Despite the efforts of the authorities , users ignored it and continued littering and fishing in the park .
One of the solution to increase the awareness of the users is to conduct some public activities and have the authorities to give out freebies like magnets with words like ' STOP LITTERING , DONT BECOME A LITTERBUG ! SAVE THE EARTH ! ' printed on it.
